Today (May 30, 2025), a research team led by Dr. Kanlayakon Phira-arora-aphicha, an entomologist from the Botanical Garden Organization, and a team consisting of Asst. Prof. Dr. Narin Chomphuphuang and Mr. Panrak Kimsawat from the Faculty of Agriculture, Khon Kaen University, Ms. Nithina Kaewthongkam, Sakaerat Environmental Research Station, Mr. Yuthana Samang from the Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, and Mr. Kittisak Khumthanon from the Pathumwan Institute of Technology, jointly discovered a new species of insect in the world in Thailand's first Biosphere Reserve, "Sakaerat Biosphere Reserve", Nakhon Ratchasima Province.
